3D Printing
3PB200 – Intro To 3D Printing – Up to 20 people – Stand Alone Class – FREE

A FREE 1/2 hour introduction & safety class. Recommended for all members. This class covers all aspects of 3D Printers, how they work and some safety basics. 3D Printing is an amazing and quickly growing technology. We will also show you many examples, uses of and the amazing things you can do with our AFINIA 3D Printers. While the machines may be complex, using them is not! No prior experience or special skills necessary for this class.

CAD/CAM & Graphics
CDB100 – Computer Aided Design Intro – Up to 20 People – Stand Alone Class – Free

A FREE 1 hour introductory class and safety class. Recommended for everyone will introduce you to computer-aided design (CAD). CAD is an essential skill that anyone can learn, and then be able to create your own products & designs. CAD is used extensively in many applications, including automotive parts, 3-D printing, robotics, industrial design, jewelry, and much, much more. This class will explain the benefits of CAD and all the amazing things you can create at Vocademy with these skills.

Costume & Prop-making
CPB100 – Intro to Costume & Prop-making  – Up to 20 People – Stand Alone – FREE

In this ½ hour FREE class we briefly discuss the aspects of the costuming and prop making and show you examples of what you can make.

Laser Cutting & Engraving
LCB100 – Laser Cutting & Engraving Intro  – Up to 20 People – Stand Alone – FREE

1 HOUR FREE CLASS! Lasers Cutting & Engraving machines are versatile, powerful and can create some amazing things. The best part is that they are easy to use. Our lasers can cut and engrave any “flammable” materials such as; wood, plastics, fabrics, foams, and much more. They can also engrave glass and etch anodized aluminum.

Machine Shop
MSB100 – MACHINE SHOP INTRODUCTION  –  Up to 20 people  –  Stand Alone Class  –  FREE

A FREE 1 hour Intro Class. In this class we will explain what machining and machine shop is. This class will also cover the amazing things you can do with machine shop skills, examples of what you can make and proper safety measures required to be in a shop environment.  Highly recommended for those interested in Machine / Metal Shop knowledge.  Mandatory for those taking the SkillSet or Access Path to machines.

Plastics & Composites
PLB100 – Intro to Model Making – Up to 10 People – Stand Alone – FREE

In this 1 hour FREE introductory class you will learn the definitions of models, props, mockups and prototypes. You will also learn about what materials are used in model and prop making and the tools commonly used in model and prop making. You will learn what skills you need to be a model or prop maker and you will learn about model making as a hobby and as a profession. We will also cover the roles of new technologies in the field such as 3D printing, laser cutting and computer controlled machines.

What you need to bring to the class:

Sewing & Textiles
STB100 – Sewing & Textiles Intro – Up to 12 People – Stand Alone – FREE

This free 1/2 hour introductory and safety class will introduce you to machine sewing. This class covers proper safety measures required in our sewing department and all the amazing things you can do with a good knowledge of machine sewing.  From proper clothing, to eye protection, to machine hazards, to types of sewing and more…

Welding and Fabrication

3PB200 – Intro To 3D Printing – Up to 20 people – Stand Alone Class – FREE

This 1 hour free class covers all aspects of welding and the amazing things you can do with basics welding skills. We will discuss welding shop safety, most popular types of modern welding processes, and show examples of all the different things someone could create with these skills. We explain MIG, TIG and other welding processes, the equipment and the differences between them. Basic welding safety, safety equipment and Vocademy rules will be strongly emphasized.
Wood Shop

WSB100 – Intro to Wood Shop – Up to 20 People – Stand Alone Class – FREE

This free 1/2 hour introductory and safety class will cover all the amazing things you can do with a good knowledge of woodworking and how to be safe in our woodworking area. Mandatory for those interested in the Wood Shop SkillSet, but also highly recommended for all members. This class covers the proper safety measures required to be in a woodworking shop. From Personal Protective Equipment (such as safety goggles/glasses, earplugs, breathing dust masks, etc.) to clothing, power equipment & tool hazard. This class covers all the most common dangers and how to avoid them, but does not replace common sense!
