Farris on Fox and Friends tomorrow
Dear HSLDA Members and Friends,
Michael Farris, HSLDA Founder and Chairman and homeschooling father of 10.
Because of our groundbreaking German political asylum case, Fox News has invited me to appear on several of their news programs in the next several days.
Will you watch Fox and Friends tomorrow morning, March 22, at 7:15 AM Eastern? I plan to discuss our groundbreaking German political asylum case. I will explain why this case is important to all Americans, but especially homeschoolers, and how you can help this family and defend the cause of freedom. I will also be on Fox’s weekend news program between noon and two o’clock on Sunday, March 24.
Since 2008, HSLDA has been representing Uwe and Hannelore Romeike, who were persecuted for homeschooling in Germany. They fled to the United States after facing exorbitant fines, forcible removal of their children, and possible imprisonment. Our legal team won political asylum for the Romeikes in 2010 but the U.S. government overturned that decision in 2012. We are now appealing their case to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. I will be arguing the case in Cincinnati on April 23, 2013. We ask you to keep this family and our preparations in your prayers.
In addition to our court case, HSLDA has initiated a petition on the White House website asking President Obama to grant the Romeikes permanent legal status. We are asking you to sign the petition here. We need 100,000 signatures by April 18 in order to receive an official White House response.
You can help this family and our efforts by going to clicking here. Sign the petition today!
Thank you for joining with us to support this brave family. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow morning or on Sunday.
P.S. You can learn more about this brave family here. But the most important thing you can do for us right now is go to the White House petition website and sign the petition. You can sign the petition here.
P.P.S. If you haven’t taken advantage of joining HSLDA, now is a great time. You can learn more here. By joining HSLDA, you will be helping this family and you will be standing with us as we defend homeschooling and parental freedoms around the world.
