The Second Annual National Church Safety and Security Conference will be held on Thursday, June 21st, 2012 at The Rock Church, 2277 Rosecrans Street, San Diego, CA 92106. The cost is $95, but scholarships are also available.
Church safety is not talked about often enough, but it is an issue that needs to be addressed. EVERY CHURCH needs to be prepared for the real challenges ALL PEOPLE deal with. This conference is for learning the skills and having the awareness to best protect and mitigate ugly issues in a God-honoring way. Please pass this message around. Especially to those in law enforcement, fire safety, and those with a strong desire to serve the Lord by protecting people and property. Please pray for our “sheep dogs” (the protectors of our Lord’s sheep), their families, and support their continuing education!

Brace yourself, I am stepping up to the soap box to vent a concern:
WAKE UP Christian mommas! We are in a battle to protect our children EVERY day, including Sunday. Please remember our church doors are open to everyone.
PLEASE love abundantly, but always ask hard questions and be discerning when you see your child speaking to an adult you don’t know well. In Matthew 10:16, Jesus tells his disciples, “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”
I have taught my son that a church is meant to be a hospital for sinners, NOT a museum for saints. People at church may be friendlier, but that does not mean that each and every one of them is a safe person to hanging out with. My son is expected to follow stranger-danger safety rules even at church. I told him we come to church to learn the word of God and to fellowship with those that are honestly applying God’s instructions. But we must never forget that some folks are just “doing church” in order to take advantage and hurt others. It is an ugly truth, but it is what comes with God’s gift of free choice to every person.
